Neighbourhood Plan

The proposed Neighbourhood Plan has now successfully completed an independent health check and was, consequently, submitted to the planning authority, Kettering Borough Council, to formally consult upon.

That consultation has now been concluded  and the Borough Council appointed Ann Skippers, Dip Mgmt (Open) PGC (TLHE) (Open) MRTPI FRSA AoU as Independent Examiner; Ms Skippers has completed her examination and recommended the plan proceed to referendum and adoption should this be desired by parishioners, subject to minor modifications indicated by the consultation and examination.

The referendum was held on Thursday 20 September 2018 and the poll results can be seen here:

A neighbourhood plan is a way of helping local communities to influence the planning of the area in which they live and work.

The development of the plan has to go through the following stages:

Current Stage Stage Complete? Stage Details
Define the Neighbourhood
Generate the Plan
Verify the Plan with an independent assessor
Hold a local referendum to gauge local support for the Plan
Give the Neighbourhood Plan legal weight as development plan policy
